Mission
The League of Women Voters of Toledo-Lucas County (LWV-TLC), a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
What does the LWV-TLC do?
The LWV-TLC has for the last 100 years fought to improve government and engage all citizens in the decisions that impact their lives, their communities, the nation. As a nonpartisan political organization, the LWV-TLC never endorses or opposes political parties or candidates.
Formed from the movement that secured the right to vote for women in 1921, the LWV-TLC and Leagues across the country have continued efforts to expand and protect participation in the democratic process. Grounded in the League’s long and respected history, members work at all three levels of government (local, state and national), engaging in broad educational efforts as well as advocacy, to ensure that democracy works for all citizens
